EES Consignment Buyer


Anixter is seeking a consignment buyer to join our Electrical

& Electronic Solutions Inventory Management Group in Glenview, IL. We are

searching for an individual with a positive attitude and exceptional time management

skills to join our team. The successful

candidate will play an active part in the set up and maintenance of new and

existing manual consignment, Rapid Fire and JIT accounts. An ideal candidate will be able to provide

great internal support for our sales team as well as build on external

relationships with our suppliers.

As a consignment buyer,

you will have the opportunity to be responsible for ensuring adequate inventory

levels at customer consignment sites, managing the movement of goods between

distribution centers, and supporting the needs of the sales representatives

within your designated accounts. Additional

responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate

with sales, program development managers, project implementation managers, warehouse

personnel, and others to onboard and maintain customer inventory requirements

based on min/max levels as agreed upon between Anixter and our customers

  • Replenish

inventory to customers by processing stock transfers from Anixter warehouses to

customer warehouses, virtually receive Anixter shipped product at a virtual

customer consignment location, and bill customers for any used material

  • Conduct

a profit analysis and communicate profit reports, potential losses, and

reoccurring concerns to Anixter sales reps. and sales location managers via

monthly or quarterly conference calls

  • Work

with sales, accounts payable, operations, product management, finance and

project management to solve issues and improve our quality policy


The ideal candidate must

be service oriented and possess strong interpersonal skills. The abilities to quickly learn key systems,

efficiently multi-task, resolve problems in a timely manner, and adapt to new

technologies are musts. The candidate

must have excellent communicational(verbal & written) and organizational skills. The billing – receiving – stock transfer

cycles require a detail oriented individual who can analyze discrepancies and

provide solutions that will correct and prevent reoccurrences. A college degree is preferred but not required. Previous experience with consignments or

relevant inventory management experience is strongly welcomed.
