Job Description

Process Specialist(Manager /Director)


The Process Specialist role is part of a newly established

Business Process Management Center of Excellence(BPM COE) and will play a

critical role in growing the Process Excellence capability and at Anixter. The

Process Specialist is responsible for assisting the Process Architect with

leading future-state(and ongoing) process design, execution, measurement, and

management of an assigned process area(Finance, Procurement, Order Management,

Manufacturing and Planning, etc.). The

Process Specialist will be responsible for supporting the process-design of an

ERP implementation and driving on-going continuous improvement of process areas

as our organization evolves.


Major Action and Support Actions

  • Understand the stakeholder and customer needs,globally and cross-functionally.

  • Ensure adherence to BPM standards regardingprocess definitions, modeling notation, and leveraging(internal/external) bestpractices.

  • Coordinate Organizational Change Management(OCM) activities/deliverables, as needed.

  • Provide business process subject matterexpertise/best practices.

  • Facilitate monthly updates to process-areascorecard and associated metrics/KPIs for executive(Process Council) review.

  • Provide training to process team members onend-to-end process design, metrics, process governance, etc.

  • Facilitate process mapping workshops

  • Serve in a secondary steward role in maintainingprocess documentation, process scorecard/metrics, and process-based trainingplans for assigned process area.

  • Serve as internal process consultant tolead/assist on BPM process improvement projects across assigned process area.

  • Model process thinking and a continuous processimprovement mindset.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Preferred Degree: Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in

business administration and/or engineering

Certificate(s): Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred

but not required

Experience: Five to ten(5-10) years related experience

across multiple consulting and corporate environments

Two(2) years of experience in one or more focused process

areas(Finance, Procurement, Order Management, Manufacturing and Planning,


Involvement in at least one large scale ERP(Oracle, SAP,

etc.) implementation

Distribution industry experience preferred but not required


Knowledgeable in:

  • Business process management principles

  • Continuous improvement methods, tools, andtechniques(e.g., Lean/Six Sigma)

  • Industry-leading BPM(or BPM related)methodologies/frameworks

  • Process-based reference architectures(e.g.,APQC) and measurement frameworks(e.g., Balanced Scorecard, etc.)

Skills include:

  • Documenting business processes(processmodeling)

  • Analyzing business processes for waste andinefficiencies

  • Using business productivity tools(e.g., MSOffice, Visio, etc.)

  • Utilizing business process modeling tools(e.g.,BlueWorks, Mega)

  • Experienced in Change Management and ProjectManagement

Capabilities include:

  • Adapting strategy and approach based on changingbusiness and/or environmental conditions

  • Collaborating and partnering with various SMEsacross the Anixter organization

  • Resolving and eliminating ambiguity

  • Applying a ‘systems thinking’ mindset tooptimize process results
