This Technical Directorposition will be primarily focused on maintaining the Security, Audio/Video andother Building Automation demonstrations in Anixter’s Infrastructure SolutionsLab in Glenview. In addition, this position will require customer facingability to discuss these systems and offer direction to both integrators andend-users on choosing the appropriate system for their individual needs. Priorexperience with customers, integrators and suppliers within these markets isstrongly desired.
In the role you will be responsible
for preparing the facility for various customer tours and discussions. You will
become the technical contact and a valuable strategic resource for the sales
team visiting the facility. The position
will require some travel and maintenance of remote Briefing Centers.
Improve and grow Lab tour visibility and usage as well asSolutions Briefing Center usage.
Buildand maintain outstanding Vendor relationships at anengineering/installation level.
ArticulateVendor’s value and differentiating features & benefits to visitingcustomers.
ArticulateAnixter’s value, capabilities and differentiating features to our customers.
Maintainequipment in both the Glenview Lab as well as the Solutions BriefingCenters in the USA.
Participate in Standards working groups as applicable to ourbusiness.
Maintain accurate inventory of equipment available for presentationsto customers.
Workwith customers to integrate systems as a Proof of Concept in the Lab.
Understand key business drivers for product categories tosupport sales growth.
Minimum5 years experience in Video Management systems, Access Controlapplications and similar physical security solutions
Audio/Videoand Building Automation systems application knowledge
Post-secondary education in relatedfieldor equivalent related work experience.
Abilityto exceed expectations through relentless execution of a plan.
Strongcommunication and presentation skills.
Possessthe ability to work independently, as well as a strong team player.
Abilityto thrive in a fast-paced environment where continuous learning is requiredin order to grow personally and professionally.
Engineeringor Technical background
IndustryCertifications such as RCDD, PSP, CPP are a plus
Computerskills; MS Office(Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
