Anixter is looking to hire a dynamic Human Resources Manager to support our Canadian Operations and Corporate Teams.

You will be responsible for implementation and/or development of all HR programs and initiatives across Canada including talent management, recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, retention and employee relations, in support of business success and to further the global HR mission and goals.

  • Multi province experience a benefit, especially working with employees in QC.

  • Manage all human resources policies, procedures, in line with the company's goals, best practice, and compliance with various professional standards and local/regional regulations.

  • Responsible for tracking and results related to HR metrics.

  • Manage employee and labor relations to minimize grievances.

  • Manage and lead the coaching, counseling, advice and risk assessment on HR/employee related issues for staff and management.

  • Manage the ongoing and annual performance management process, including merit processes and documentation.

  • Assess for and improve on operations efficiencies of HR processes and procedures.

  • Facilitate recruitment for hiring managers.

  • Responsible for proactive and timely response to internal client’s inquiries.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in a closely related field.

  • 7+ years’ relevant experience

  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently and handle multiple priorities/projects simultaneously

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Strong consultative, coaching, communication and influence skills

  • Strong leadership presence and experience managing and influencing diverse groups and individuals

  • General business acumen, demonstrate analytical and creative thinking ability

  • Strong computer skills with MS Office and HRIS

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve complex problems.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, direct reports, and other business areas.

  • Fluent in oral and written communication in both English and French

  • Ability/desire to travel 25-50%
