Summary of role

Reporting

to the Purchasing Manager and responsible for the Purchasing and Inventory

Management of a defined range of product sets, supporting several key contracts

within UK and EMEA.

Full-time

position, permanent. M-F 08:00-17:00, some minor flexibility may be allowed.

Office

based, but occasional UK & EMEA travel may be required

Main responsibilities/Key goals

  • To managea defined product profile within agreed parameters of cost and lead time,optimising availability, whilst controlling appropriate inventory levels

  • Toensure goods are delivered at the required time, whether against plannedschedules, or agreed with Sales and Customer expectations

  • Allcost and vendor information should be maintained, including the ProductManagement team where necessary

  • Agreedinventory levels, turnover & service levels to be maintained andoptimised

  • EnsurePO’s are raised in compliance with the LoA & Purchasing Policy

  • Expediteall PO’s in a timely manner, checking and recording all Acknowledgementsto PO’s and making any necessary amendments, if acceptable

  • Communicateeffectively and professionally with other departments within Anixter andorganisations outside Anixter.

  • To beactively involved in monitoring Supplier performance and to participateand contribute in supplier meetings, where appropriate

  • Toensure all products are purchased from a supplier whose quality status isapproved and maintained to Anixter, reporting a non-compliance or changein status to the Product Management team

Tools and equipment used

  • MicrosoftPackages(Office Tools, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote, etc.)

  • AnixterAIM(Bespoke mainframe, soon to be updated to Oracle system)

Qualifications/education required

  • Graduateor equivalent, with relevant experience

  • Educatedto a good college standard or equivalent

Necessary skills, knowledge and experience

  • PreviousPurchasing / Commercial experience

  • Able touse Microsoft Software Packages to a proficient standard

  • Abilityto manage a diverse workload,

  • Usingsound judgement and making logical decisions, based on available data

Attitude and/or desirable attributes

  • Positive,customer focused, ‘can do’ attitude

  • Anability to handle working under pressure to be able to prioritiseeffectively

  • Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills, within a team environment
